In a high-stakes clash at Centennial Bowl, the Cambridge Men delivered a stunning 2-1 victory over league leaders Masters FA. 

With just two points separating Cambridge who sit in 4th from Masters FA at the top of the table entering the final stretch of games, these three points are a crucial step in Cambridge’s path to promotion.

Cambridge Women dropped a narrow 2-1 decision on the road against Hamilton United on Wednesday night. In their last game of the regular season, both teams pushed hard to secure three crucial points, battling it out at Redeemer University.

Although Cambridge’s Katie Halley opened the scoring and gave the visitors an early lead, Hamilton responded with two unanswered goals to secure the victory.

The OPL 2 Women fell 3-2 in a high-scoring, back and forth matchup against Rush Canada on home turf at Fountain Street soccer complex Sunday. 

Cambridge’s Sami Falkenstein would open the match early for the home side, with both teams trading blows with a back-and-forth attack, but a late winner from the visitors would seal the loss for Cambridge. 

The men’s OPL 2 side bounced back in spectacular fashion on home turf against Windsor City FC.

Three early goals propelled Cambridge over the visitors and set the tone for the rest of the match, with the hosts leading 4-1 at the break. Windsor came within two in the second, but Medeiros completed his brace to seal the victory 5-2 in front of the home crowd.

Despite a second-half push to come back from two goals down, a late strike from Inter Toronto secured all three points on the night for the visitors.

Cambridge United Women’s OPL 2 squad fought to a 0-0 draw on the road against Burlington SC at Corpus Christi Stadium. Both defensive lines held firm throughout the 90 minutes to share equal points. 

On the road, Cambridge Men’s OPL 2 picked up a crucial three points this Friday against North Mississauga SC at Mattamy Sports Park.

With goals from captain Nikolas Antolcic and forward Matthew Ciavarro, the visiting Cambridge side held on to secure the 2-1 victory.

After a slow, disjointed opening half that saw them fall behind by three goals, Cambridge dominated the final 35 minutes, scoring four unanswered goals to secure a memorable victory.

The Waterloo Region Derby delivered a tense, highly physical match as neighbouring rivals Waterloo United and Cambridge United played to a 2-2 draw at RIM Park. A fast-paced first half saw Cambridge take an early cushion, but Waterloo battled back before halftime to split points on the night.
